Overview of Nortik
Nortik is based in Germany and is known for specializing in foldable and hybrid kayaks. The brand has built a reputation for producing boats that are easy to pack and transport, allowing paddlers to reach remote or difficult-to-access areas. Nortik has developed several series of kayaks with different purposes, all designed to maintain stability and performance while remaining lightweight. One of the most popular models, the Nortik Scubi, introduced a hybrid concept that combines a rigid frame with inflatable parts, balancing portability with solid on-water performance.

Materials and Construction
Nortik uses advanced materials to ensure its kayaks are both durable and lightweight. Most folding and hybrid models use an aluminum frame for rigidity and a durable, waterproof fabric shell for protection.

Key Uses of Nortik Boats
The fold comes standard with pre-installed footbraces and a seat comfortable, easily adjustable inflatable seat. The deck net is also part of the standard equipment. The storage bag is obviously included, the one with backpack straps that can otherwise fit inside. Handy when you have to wear the fold on a long trip. If you want to wear it differently, put the straps away so they don't hang down or get in the way.
Honeycomb plates, which are sometimes used for kayaks of this type, have too thin a wall and bad bending causes irreversible damage, as the material inherently has only one direction of movement. Just twisting it once in the wrong direction will compromise the internal structure and create a false fold in the boat forever. In our opinion, such a risk should be ruled out from the outset when choosing the material. Foamed material also presents a risk of water absorption. This happens for sure as soon as the material suffers any surface damage and can lead to dirt and algae formation.
After some time, we finally found a composite that met the criteria we were looking for: strong, UV resistant, cold resistant and extraordinarily tough. The solid and solid material (no cavities!) also allows for installations in the boat as in a conventional kayak, without affecting the material. We have this material - called nortilen - produced specifically for nortik fold, in custom-made dimensions. Without cells, wrinkles or lasting dirt: we think it's the ideal material for a kayak-origami!
