Chrysler Marine engines were produced from the 1920s and were used on various boats, yachts, and commercial vessels. The company primarily focused on gasoline engines based on its automotive V6 and V8 designs, with popular models including the Chrysler LM318 (5.2L, V8, 225–240 hp), LM360 (5.9L, V8, 250–275 hp), and LM440 (7.2L, V8, 300–330 hp). These engines were known for their reliability, high power, and compatibility with automotive parts, but they had high fuel consumption and were prone to overheating. In addition to gasoline engines, Chrysler also produced diesel models, such as the Chrysler-Nissan Diesel, which were more fuel-efficient and durable. Production of Chrysler marine engines ceased in 1980, but many are still in use today, with spare parts available due to their similarity to automotive counterparts.
