Fishing in autumn
Fish in autumn: general habits Early autumn: water temperature from +10 °C and above
Summer behavior of fish can persist for quite a long time. If the weather is dry and warm, and the water temperature does not drop below +10...12 °C, you can count on a good bite. With the onset of cold weather, fish activity during the day disappears. If in the heat there can be several peaks during the day, now we can only highlight two main, but distinct ones - in the morning and in the evening. Predatory fish actively put on fat, because they will not have such an opportunity again until the next warm weather. Pike begins to gorge.
Mid-autumn: water temperature from +4 to +10 °C Vegetation dies, the water becomes cleaner, plankton goes to the depths. This means that the food supply of most species has changed greatly. It would seem that since there is less food, the fish should bite more actively? Yes and no. Carp become sluggish due to the decrease in water temperature, and transparency additionally increases the requirements for the finesse of the tackle. But due to the fact that individuals begin to gather in large schools, the average bite is quite good. Predators go after the prey to the depths, their mobility slows down. Transparent water makes the fish very picky: not every bait is attacked. It is time for realistic wobblers and fishing with live bait.
Late autumn: water temperature below +4 °C
The fish are preparing for wintering. Large carp gather in huge schools in wintering pits, and for the next 3 months they cannot be stirred. Small roach and crucian carp continue to feed in the shallows during the day and in the evening, and the predator lives next to them. The predator's bite shifts to twilight peaks, it saves strength and attacks only when it is sure of success. During this period, fishing is the least productive, and you have to study the habits of each species you plan to catch. Even biting is a matter of experience, so do not be afraid of the change of seasons and go fishing in the fall.
